Paria River Valley Road

In Kanab Utah, we were central to so many great places to explore. While we were in and near (but couldn't see - more on that later) the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, we went on a treasure hunt. The treasure? A screenshot I'd taken off Facebook a year before of a gorgeous, striped, colorful wall of rock.
It just said Vermilion Cliffs, so I figured we'd start there, but it wasn't in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. Paria Canyon was (and that may be the right place, but it was a long hike in) and some of the Paria River, but not my striped walls (or ones we were willing to get to). The problem (but also beautiful thing) in this area is that it's undeveloped, so no visitor centers, paved roads, or signs leading you to the right spots. (This also means no tourist bottlenecks!) So back in Grand Staircase-Escalante, we finally found the Paria River Valley Road and the treasure! An easy, but twisty road(ish) to these amazing colorful hills.
And since there were no people anywhere, Jack got to run!
So pretty! I'm so glad we found this, even if it wasn't the same place in the photo!
