You just can't beat free camping with views like this! Buena Vista quickly became a favorite.

We found out our friends, the Ryans, were just a few hours away. We met them on the road and have seen them in a few states as our paths crossed, so we were so glad to see them again! The drive was gorgeous too. We went out for pizza and had fun catching up! Check out the cute photo bomber. :) 

We found another whitewater park in the next town, Salida. It's a little bigger than Buena Vista and adorable too! The park by the whitewater park takeout has a climbing wall too.

We found a great park downtown in Buena Vista, CO, a lovely town surrounded by amazing mountain views! We stayed at the whitewater park and then moved across the river and up the mountain to some public land. Free camping with a view? Yes, please! We loved these tile furniture park benches around town! Our free campsite

We loved our view of the mountains from Colorado Springs, but decided we needed to be much closer to them. So we headed west on a gorgeous drive!
