Terlingua Ghost Town & Mayor Goat

On the way from Big Bend back to our campground in Lajitas (which was really pretty!) we checked out the Terlingua ghost town, which was spooky cool. And we found this funny to see in the desert.  And this was just hilarious. Clay Henry, a goat, is actually the elected mayor of Lajitas. I guess he's as good as most politicians!

Fort Worth Stockyards

Since we were near Fort Worth, of course we had to visit the stockyards to see the longhorns herded through the streets!

George Bush Presidential Library

Since we were in Texas, we checked out the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum . It was really interesting and fun to learn all about our 41st president.  Also fun to pretend a bit behind his desk. :) Yes, his desk has drawers on both sides and he didn't use the Resolute desk. He used his desk from the vice president's office. President Bush kept his baseball glove close by.

Fall, football, hunting, and silly cats

Fall sure is pretty on the mountain. Fall also means Buckeyes games and buckeye fudge!  And deer processing, lots of deer processing. Today Josh just decided to learn to tan hides. He's tried a few techniques and is getting pretty good. Amazing what you can find on YouTube.  The cats enjoy "helping" with deer processing too. I won't show you all of that, but you can see them trying to get a good view of the happenings.  Chewie really, really likes to copy his mama. It's just strange sometimes how much.
