Air Force Museum

After our quick trip back to West Virginia, where Allen and Josh shredded the Upper Gauley (OH MY GOODNESS MY BABY DID THE GAULEY!)... We came back to Ohio for a quick visit to Wright Patt, aka National Museum of the United States Air Force, aka best aviation museum in the country (and yes, we compared!).  Josh got to go in full uniform because of [whatever military reason] and loved that.   It was fun to visit again after quite a few years.

Midwest downtime

We're (very slowly) making our way up to North Dakota (yes, just to fill in that last sticker on our map !) and have had a lot of downtime in Ohio and Indiana.  It feels like that's all we have nowadays, but I think we're just so used to our nomadic life that it's just the norm.  Ever sold all your possessions, taken your family on the road, traveled the entire country for years, seen amazing things, met wonderful people, but feel like your life is way too boring to write a book about it? Yeah, me too! So, not much to blog about, but here are a few things we've been up to.  The kids made business cards for Doggy Day Care and are hoping to wash a few dogs around the campgrounds.  (Matt's shirt is thanks to the grands!) We've eaten a lot of frog legs (yes, they taste like chicken).  Some have been huge!  We've learned that Matt will sacrifice everything to catch a frog.  He was neck deep in a lake after dark!   Jack was busted for sne...

Civil Air Patrol

Josh is now a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol , US Air Force Auxiliary.  We will try to join in with squadrons across the country as we travel, and he'll be able to do some of his testing online too.  CAP focuses on aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services.  He hopes to take some orientation flights in planes and helicopters and participate in encampments and training events.  There are so many squadrons and opportunities.  (Plus, he's just so darn cute in his uniforms!)   If he completes the program and reaches a certain rank, he can enter any branch of the military at an advanced grade.  (Learn more here .)
