Oh, these cats

How much do these cats sleep? Most of the day, unless it's whack & pack day, then they "help". Why does Walker sleep upside down? Why does she do most of everything she does... Josh left his coat outside to not smell "too humany" for hunting. Hope the deer like the smell of cats. They apparently sneak around at night, stealing the deer peanut butter lick! And sometimes they scale trees just for fun. Walker went quickly all the way to the top and Chewie slowly made his way up, until she raced him down. Whack & pack day, so fun for them. Chewie likes to play with his food. :/

Fall, football, hunting, and silly cats

Fall sure is pretty on the mountain. Fall also means Buckeyes games and buckeye fudge!  And deer processing, lots of deer processing. Today Josh just decided to learn to tan hides. He's tried a few techniques and is getting pretty good. Amazing what you can find on YouTube.  The cats enjoy "helping" with deer processing too. I won't show you all of that, but you can see them trying to get a good view of the happenings.  Chewie really, really likes to copy his mama. It's just strange sometimes how much.

Sleepy kitten

We are constantly "losing" the cats, but since they're supposed to be working barn cats and not pets, we should stop looking! But they always turn up, generally asleep, and usually somewhere weird. Lately it seems to be in the greenhouse. The other night, they were both piled in a chair outside on top of a WWII gas mask. No idea on that one. No photo either. Since it was late, and dark, I was busy assuming some snake was waiting to kill me, so I was focused on that. There wasn't one, just fyi. This is how we found Chewie in the greenhouse today.

Random days

Walker Kitty basking in, well, I can't tell you what, but she super loves chicken processing days.  Look at her happy, content face. Ew. Baby Goat, Lucy, and Lily all went back to their farm. It was fun to have them for the summer. The RVstead sure is a lot quieter without them -and more boring! The Graham family came to visit Lundy Mountain and we had some fun days together! We sprouted a kitten in the greenhouse.  More obligatory pictures of sleeping cats - because we literally have nothing else to do around here!

Animals lounging, humans working

The animals are enjoying the peaceful field, goats and deer alike.  And the cats enjoy the keyboard when it's not being played. :)  They're so weirdly similar.  While everyone else is lounging around, the humans had lots of work to do. Beans don't snap themselves. :)

On the RVstead

Random stuff from the RVstead. Baby Goat is still adorable.  Matt's 2 favorite things.  The garden did pretty well this year. We had beans and tomatoes still growing until we just got tired of picking them!  We found all the kittens sleeping in the tree again.  Almost all are going to new homes soon. And we got new sheets and now can't find Allen.

Animals and the tree

We spent part of the day under the tree with the animals, mainly watching the kittens be silly and the goats play fight.  Chewie fell asleep like this for a while.  Walker captured a few for baths in between the fun. A mighty hunter...  Then Chewie woke up and fell asleep again.  And again.
