Climbing above Shoshone Falls

On our way west toward Oregon, we stopped in Twin Falls to do some climbing in the beautiful Snake River Canyon. Allen found this climb, Over the Falls at the Prow, and it was indeed high above the Shoshone Falls. So we had a pretty hike and gorgeous views in our (fortunately) shady spot at the base of the cliff. Matt sport climbed up to set the anchors. He's becoming a great climber! Then we top roped. Margie:  Matt:  Allen: Lizzy even climbed, possibly against her will. :)  Then we headed over to view the falls from the front. See our cliff on the top right?  We climbed right up there. :)  Our view from both sides.

Laramie, Wyoming Territorial Prison

We explored Laramie, which is a really fun western town with a huge train yard. And history displayed right on the walkways.  He just can't pass up any opportunity for pull-ups. :)  We also checked out the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historical Site, which was fascinating. Butch Cassidy did time here!  They look like hardened criminals. :)  They also had a town, log cabins, animals, science center and more.  Scoundrels, all of 'em.

Vedauwoo, Wyoming

On our way west, we stopped in the Vedauwoo climbing area near Laramie, Wyoming. Free camping on public land? Yes, please! We wanted to cool down after our summer in NC and then TX, but WY was a little *too* cool with 50s & 60s during the days and 40s at night! Moose! The view from my office window was worth it. We did some climbing, though it was chilly and kept raining us out. Lizzy and I sought shelter from the wind. :) Allen and Matt went on an adventure and called me from the top of this mountain, right before this cloud rolled in. We love to play "I can see my house from here." Home :)
