A day at the game, enjoying our friends

well it was a rainy, yucky day, but we had fun with our friends at the osu game! we were completely soaked and numb, but enjoyed cheering on our beloved buckeyes. check out these pictures, one from the spring game 4 years ago, and one from today. of course we added two to our family, so there are more! but these kids are growing up too fast!! the kids had a ball playing together last night and shannan and i just enjoyed watching. they played in the tree house (mastering the zip line), tag, basketball, made up games, and even gathered around a solar light to tell ghost stories. :) here are a few pictures from our weekend at home and at the shoe!

Ohio State Football Spring Game!

it's time for the OSU Spring game ! matt, shannan, and the girls are coming up for a fun weekend and we're all excited! we've not seen them in way too long. we'll have a huge crew of buckeyes fans and when we get together, there are a LOT of us! GO BUCKS!

Football season is here

josh is playing flag football (and no, i can't believe they have a league for 8 year olds!) and he's so excited. he said he's now dedicating his life to football and being in the hall of fame. he used to just want to play pro football, but now it's the hall of fame. hey, aim high! :) his team won their first game too. of course i took a few photos. :) if you just see an ad for slide, click the x in the upper right corner to close it.

Eric Davis sighting!!!!

i almost forgot to share my exciting news. i saw eric davis!!!! and he waved at me!! eric was my favorite baseball player since, well ever. i still try to hold my bat and swing like him. :) we went to a cincinnati reds spring training game in florida on march 9th before we left for our cruise . i saw him when we walked in, but the boys didn't believe me. later he was standing up and i said see? that's him! so allen yelled at him and he waved for my picture. i about cried! :) of course i went down to the dugout and took more. and then i so wanted to go tell someone, but anyone who would really understand was with me, allen, my brother, and my dad. so i told the girls at DSP and of course lauren asked if he was some famous photoghop guy. (we really *are* geeks!) but it was awesome to see him after all this time! he retired in 2001, so it was neat to see him just hanging out with his old team. they called him an honorary guest coach. eric davis! still can...

SK8R Kids

we took the kids to the skate park downtown with skateboards, scooters, and bikes, just to see what kind of carnage there'd be. there was a lot! :) but they had a ball. they can't wait to go back, even though they spent more time on the ground than actually sk8ting! :) if you just see an ad for slide, click the x in the upper right corner to close it.

Spring Break at Shawnee

the kids and i took a trip down memory lane for the first few days of their spring break. we went to shawnee state university , where allen and i went to college. it's really changed since then! (of course it wasn't *that* long ago!) lots of new buildings, housing, and even roads that disappeared. the kids loved walking through the halls and lizzy kept saying she felt like she was really in college. :) we also visited the innermisison campus ministry which is really growing. (their site's still under construction) i was there at its beginning and it was small, but we knew it could be great. it's awesome to see so many college kids hanging out there! they have a building close to the campus with lots of fun things to do. dsp donated some software and cds so hopefully we'll see some new digital scrapbookers too. :) i also showed them the amazing murals on the flood wall of the ohio river. then we headed to shawnee forest for some hiking and swimming ...
