Poor radio

If you tell your sons they can take things apart to learn about them, be prepared. They will. The things will not always survive. But Josh did learn how a radio works. He has still not, however, learned to wear a shirt.

Another FOTR

We met another FOTR (Family On The Road)! The Watkins family was in Mesa, Arizona so we went and spent the day sitting in and around the pool (seeing that it was always over 110° there)! It was great to finally meet Vicki, who I've followed online for probably 2 years now. She's a traveler, unschooler, hooper, and all around cool person. They're a long-time FOTR, we're talking like 13 years! They settled for a bit in Hawaii and I loved looking at her pictures. But now they're back in the lower 48 and I was so glad to finally meet them! Yep, her daughter has pink hair, which Lizzy now wants, or maybe blue. And one of her kids was hiding, while two of mine tried to, and Lizzy forgot to smile. :) I certainly hope we run into them again down the road.

Arizona Diamondbacks

Allen is now ONE stadium away from his goal to see a game at every Major League Baseball ballpark ! While we were in Mesa, we went to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks. This was Matt's first MLB game and he was especially excited. He really wanted to be on the big screen and we kept telling him that was really unlikely and not to get his hopes up. Well, we were on it twice! Figures. And yeah, I took pics both times. :) It was a fun park, and even better that it was kids go free night! We got cheap seats and Matt said we were going so high the seats would be upside down. :) FYI, the game ended up being awesome! The Dbacks were down, came back to tie in the 9th, then went on to win! More pics: Of course it was totally worth it just to sit inside the stadium in the AC!

Bedrooms

More painting finished. Lizzy's room is now lime green, teal, and blue. Girls! The boys' room is all Army green. All three are still very happy with the bedroom swap. The boys love the dark, quiet room and Lizzy, who hates dark and quiet (and bedtime in general), loves having the open loft. Next thing to work on is why each boy has 2 drawers and 1 toy box, while Lizzy has 9 drawers, 3 toy boxes, and still more stuff out in her room. How do we keep collecting stuff ??

Daddy & Matt Gap

Allen took Matt on a hike in Arizona (despite it being a bazillion degrees) & sent back some pics from his cell. They climbed up to these gaps and named them Daddy Gap and Matt Gap. You might not find it on a map, but in case you climb up there, now you know. Lizzy, Josh, & I stayed behind in the AC, freely admitting Allen & Matt were much tougher than us.

Kitchen finished

Finished painting the living room/kitchen/dining room. I guess an advantage of small space living is you can count one room as three! And now we'll move on to a color besides lime green. How about purple or teal next?!
